Request for access to documents held by public organizations

It is possible for anyone to consult and obtain copies of public documents, accessible in accordance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information.

The information which you provide in your request will be treated in a confidential manner and will be communicated only to those authorized to handle your request.

Your request must be made in writing to the designated staff in the organization and must be sufficiently precise in order to facilitate the retrieval of the document and thus enabling them to provide you with an answer. In order to add specificity to your request, we suggest that you mention the title of the document, the name of the author or the subject matter.

Please note that the Municipality cannot make public any personal information that is private in nature, which concerns a third person without their consent (eg: when you wish to have access to the file of a property to which you are in the process of purchasing). It is therefore preferable that you first obtain their written authorization (using the Municipality’s form for example).

The form entitled “Request for access to documents” is optional and is made available to all those making a request to the Municipality, for access to documents.

To do so, please complete and print the request form. Sign the document and send it to the designated staff in the organization.
