FIRE PREVENTION

As part of its 2018-2019 fire prevention strategy, during this cold period, the Ministry of Pubic Safety and its partners wish to raise the public’s awareness to the potential danger of Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.

To do so, they are proposing a prevention capsule, reminding you of the importance of the presence of a carbon monoxide detector when there is the use of appliances or equipment fuled by combustible agents such as a wood or propane stove, a gas stove, an ethanol fireplace, an oil heating system…

Follow the monthly fire prevention capsules on the Ministry of Public Safety’s Facebook page, Instagram or Website.

Fire prevention week - October 5-11, 2014

Posted Oct. 1, 2014

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FIRE PREVENTION OFFICER IS CURRENTLY VISITING DWELLINGS WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY, AND WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE END OF OCTOBER 2014.

Posted August 28, 2014

Please note that the Fire department will proceed with fire prevention visits in the municipality starting in 2012.  Make sure that your fire extinguishers are full and visible in case of an emergency.

In order to serve you better, we ask that you notify your fire department of any special equipment you may be using in your residence or business, such as a wheel chair, elevator or oxygen tank.  This information is transmitted to the 9-1-1 service, so that they may inform the fire department when dispatched.

Your safety and that of our firefighters are at risk !

  • Always check your smoke detectors and remember to change them every 10 years.
