Collection of sand bags

We are trying to organize a last collection of sand bags on Saturday, May 27th.

To residents who have sand bags to be removed

If you wish to receive help from a team of volunteers, please send an email to:
labrie.dominic@municipalitepontiac.ca
before 5pm on Thursday, May 25th  with the following information:

  • Name

  • Address

  • Telephone

  • Email

  • Number of sand bags (approximately)

You must be present during the collection of sand bags on you property.  Please note that it is difficult to foresee a schedule for this collection, as we do not know how many volunteers will be available and what amount of work needs to be done. By responding to this email, you relieve the Municipality and volunteers of any responsibility with respect to any damage to your property.

To volunteers

The work consists of removing all sand bags from properties and putting them on the side of the public road.  The bags often are wet and heavy (25 pounds +).  To accomplish this task, you must be in good physical health.

There will be 2 shifts :

  • On Saturday, May 27th, from 8am until 12 noon

  • On Saturday, May 27th, from 1pm until 5pm

If you are interested in participating, please send an email to labrie.dominic@municipalitépontiac.ca before 5pm on Thursday, May 25th  with the following information for each volunteer:

  • Name

  • Telephone

  • Email

  • Shift (AM or PM)

Volunteers must be able to travel within the territory, be at least 18 years of age and must wear waterproof boots and gloves.  Since the collection will be carried out in the presence of heavy equipment, on the water’s edge and often in areas that were contaminated by septic systems, children are not allowed during this collection.

The gathering area(s) will be announced by email or on the municipal Facebook page by 6pm on Friday.
